Empowering Foster Youth
Beyond Our Kin’s Programs have been developed to give foster youth the support and skills they need to succeed in life while ensuring we have plenty of fun along the way. Our programs range from homeless prevention and art therapy sessions to life skills, workforce development, internships, and more.
This is only the beginning. There will be more to come as we work with foster youth and hear what they say about what they want and need, giving a voice to those who need it most.
Foster youth can do amazing things. They just need someone to help them thrive in the right direction.
Therapeutic Art
A great way to spend a day, learning more about yourself and having fun in the process. Take the opportunity to learn to paint, draw or sculpt and give yourself an avenue to express yourself.
All Art Therapy sessions are held under the guidance of artists and
dedicated volunteers, where you will be encouraged to explore your creativity as a powerful tool for communication, healing, and personal discovery.
Our program champions an approach that helps develop coping
strategies, enhances resilience, and builds a sense of personal identity.
Workforce Development
BOK, knows how hard it is to find work, when you’re transitioning from foster care. We have been working with our partners to give you the help you need.
Workforce Development provides training and employment programs, exclusively designed for you and
the foster community.
We run training throughout the year, and work with around 20 transitional foster youth at any given time. Our support doesn’t end once you’ve finished training. We continue to support you on your journey as you apply for jobs and until you gain employment.
Financial Literacy
Having an understanding of finances, has the potential to ensure you thrive and don’t just survive, when you leave foster care.
BOK, understands how important financial literacy is and have partnered with the Grant Cardone Foundation, to give you financial lessons in a fun and relatable way.

Homeless Prevention
Finding a home after leaving foster care can be challenging. BOK’s Homeless Prevention program provides you with a place to call home.
We provide everything from emergency shelter support, to helping you to find a secure home, and will provide home
furnishing and decorating services to help you on your way.

Mentoring & Leadership
BOK has established a Mentoring Program to provide foster youth with dedicated mentors, who support you as transition to being self sufficient.
During each workshop we invite professionals and positive influencers to speak to you about subjects that matter to you. We work with professionals from organisation’s such as the Lakers, Netflix and many many more.
These mentors will be matched to your needs, to support you in your personal and the professional growth, providing training, regular check-ins and support sessions.
Education Support
We believe it is important to remove the barriers, ensuring you have the opportunity for a full education.
Our Education Support provides assistance with educational resources, tutoring, scholarships and homework support. BOK is here ensure you have the power to decide what your future looks like.
Our Holistic Approach
Each program at BOK, starting with our cornerstone, Transitional Support, is designed to empower these young individuals to unlock their potential and gain the tools needed for a successful adulthood. We focus on delivering a robust framework of support to address the myriad challenges foster youth face when transitioning out of care. Our primary objective is to ensure that each participant can navigate their journey from care to independence with confidence and resilience.
